Wedding Centerpieces

Wedding Decorations with Flair

A wedding is a time for making lasting memories. The day is filled with stress and joy, relatives and friends, vows and passion. Carefully choosing wedding decorations will add to the day in a great way. The wedding decorations are something that not only the bride and groom will remember but all the guests will see and enjoy.

Wedding decorations with flair will be something that will make a wedding stand out as spectacular. There are many ways to decorate with flair; traditional weddings may seem boring to some but with a little effort can be made elegant. The first thing to consider is the color theme. If the bride is going to wear white the other members of the wedding party should wear colors which will make the bride stand out. Contrasting colors do this well. Bright pinks, reds, and blues will always make a nice backdrop for the beautiful bride in her white gown.

Once the color has been chosen the next consideration is the flowers. Choosing one particular flower in a single color is a nice way for the flowers to be enhanced. Adding greenery, candles, and ribbon will all increase the beauty of the day.

Non-traditional Wedding Decorations

Sometimes the best way to achieve flair is to choose something unique and flamboyant. A nice alternative to flowers would be balloons. This may also reduce the cost of the decorations considerably. Balloons can be used in much the same way as flowers for wedding decorations. Balloons can be helium filled and either used individually or made into bouquets. Colorful wall and ceiling hangings such as paper-mache birds or flowers would be a unique way to decorate. A different idea for a night wedding would be to use lighting that would look like stars. If local laws don't forbid it, fireworks would add to the dcor and celebration. Of course, this would entail having the wedding outside.

Outdoor Wedding Decorations

Having a wedding outside often brings a certain amount of natural decoration. Choosing a garden setting, a park setting or a setting near a lake or the ocean will create a beautiful atmosphere without having to add much. In these settings just adding some simple candelabras or ribbons and bows would complete the wedding decorations. This can decrease cost of decorations while still creating a setting with flair. Most importantly, remember that the bride and groom are the center of the day and the wedding decorations should complement their day while creating a beautiful and memorable setting.

Wedding Shoes

Shopping for Wedding Supplies

Everyone who has ever planned a wedding knows that there is no end to the wedding supplies that are needed. The first wedding supply that will be an important asset throughout the time leading up to the wedding is a wedding planner. A good wedding planner will assist in knowing how, when, where, and what to plan. There are so many small details to a wedding that seeking the advice of a wedding planner is a wise decision.

Wedding planner books can be found at most bookstores or bridal stores. If the bride-to-be is unsure of what planner to purchase she may want to ask friends or relatives that have recently married what planner they used. This will help in the selection.
The wedding planner will list other wedding supplies which will be needed.

Making Lists

When making list of wedding supplies which are needed it is helpful to think through all the various steps of the wedding. The first things which will be needed are the decorations and flowers for the church or ceremony location. Thinking about the kind of ceremony one is going to have will help in determining the supplies needed. Will there be a runner for the bride to walk in on? Will there be a candle lighting ceremony?

Some couple share communion or other religious ceremonies during the wedding. The supplies for these ceremonies will need to be planned for. As the bride and groom to be work through these wedding plans the list for supplies will grow steadily. It will be important to think through all the aspect of the wedding and the reception to be well prepared with wedding supplies.

Finding the Right Wedding Supplies

Once the lists of supplies have been made, the shopping begins. Starting with some research of local party and bridal stores will be useful. In many large cities there are discount party supply stores where most wedding supplies can be found. Also, large craft stores often have supplies for weddings and receptions. If the wedding is expected to be very large, looking for a warehouse outlet store will be helpful.

One way to save time and money is to shop on the internet. Many people find this a great way to get a lot done in a short amount of time. Price comparisons can easily be made quickly on the web. The drawback to internet shopping is not being able to see the wedding supplies prior to purchase. If purchasing the needed supplies on the internet it is a good idea to allow for extra time to replace the items if they are not acceptable.

Wedding Destinations Depend on Time and Budget

Wedding destinations can be charming or exotic. There are plenty of great places to visit after all of the celebrations are over on the wedding day. The wedding destinations depend on the desires of the wedding couple, and the amount they have budgeted for the trip. The couple may choose to stay close to their home, or they may choose a great destination thousands of miles away. The amount of money in the budget will govern the distance, the time and the accommodations. The couple with an unlimited budget could go thousand of miles and stay there for weeks. The couple with a limited budget might have to stay close to home for only a few days.

The destinations in the country are appealing and many couples choose to stay in the country for different reasons. Many couples choose traditional wedding destinations because these are some of the most beautiful places in the country. Many newly married couples visit the Grand Canyon, Disneyland or Cape Cod. Other special destinations in the country include Las Vegas, Atlantic City and New York. Most couples stay at these wedding destinations about a week before they have to get back to jobs and other responsibilities.

Wedding Destinations Abroad Are Exciting but Expensive

Newly married couples often opt for a foreign wedding destination if their budget permits. The foreign wedding destinations are fantastic, and many couples find it hard to choose a destination right away. Some couples leave for Tahiti as soon as the ceremony is over, and they meet plenty of other newly married couples when they arrive. Paris is another great wedding destination, and the couples who go to the City of Light always have great reports when they return. Paris is close to many other European destinations that the couple might include on a day trip.

There are other exotic wedding destinations in the Far East. Bangkok, Thailand is a great wedding destination because there are great shops, tours and restaurants. China including Hong Kong is another great place for a wedding trip. The country is vibrant and exciting for any tourist so the wedding couple will have fun. South America has wonderful wedding destinations such as Brazil. Many wedding couples head for Aruba or the Bahamas. There is usually great weather in this area and lots of activities for those with a few days off for their honeymoon.

Wedding Gift Ideas

Creative Wedding Ideas

It is often said that the wedding day is the most important day of a person's life. Certainly it is one of the most memorable days. The bride and groom both have expectations of what they would like their wedding day to be. It is important for a couple to think carefully about what they consider the most important parts of the wedding and then mold the day to fit their personalities and desires.

There is no end to creative wedding ideas. These creative can be molded to fit all different types of people with all different types of expectations. From the basic church wedding to saying vows in a hot air balloon the ideas are only limited by ones imagination.

Original Wedding Ideas for the Church Wedding

Many churches have some basic rules for wedding ceremonies. These need to be adhered to but do not need to limit the creativity of a wedding. One creative wedding idea to consider is having guest participation in the ceremony. It may be nice to have a few older people speak for a few minutes on what makes a successful marriage. With church decorations in mind, renting plants adds to the beauty of a church and creates a nice environment for the wedding.

Another idea for a church wedding is to pick an era in history for a theme. For example, the 1920's, which had distinctive styles, would be a fun way for the wedding party to dress. It would even be unique to request guests to dress in the same way.

Theme Wedding Ideas

Using themes can broaden the creative wedding ideas even more. A couple might choose to have a wedding at a southern mansion and dress as pre-civil war. Perhaps a western theme would suit the couple. Having the groomsmen wearing a bolo tie and cowboy hat would be a different look. A tropical theme would be a great wedding idea for a summer wedding. Using colorful decorations of the pacific islands would enhance a wedding beautifully.

Of course, using a holiday theme, if the wedding date falls near a holiday, is a creative wedding idea too. Christmas, Valentines Day, or the 4th of July all lend to the theme wedding idea terrifically. The couple can find limitless wedding ideas if they simply think with creativity and imagination. Choosing a theme which is personal to their likes will make the wedding even more memorable.

Wedding is all about

What you Need to Think About When you are Planning a Wedding

There is truly a multitude of different things that you need to think about when it comes to planning a wedding, and so if you are one of the many people out there right now that is planning on preparing for a wedding then you are going to want to know that you have to get yourself prepared and get ready because most likely it is going to be one heck of a ride.

The First Things to Think About

One of the first things that you need to think about when you are planning a wedding is where you are going to have it. This is really important, because unless you are having it in your home or the home of someone that you know than you are going to have to book it in advance so that you know for sure that there are openings on the day of your wedding.

Another thing that you are going to want to think about is what day you want to have the wedding on, and this is also incredibly important, especially since you are going to have to let people know when they are supposed to come to the wedding. In regards to this, you are going to have to make invitations that you send out to everyone that you hope will come to the wedding, and make sure that you tell them to RSVP, so that you have an exact (or at least rough idea) as to how many people will be coming to the wedding.

Another thing that you are going to have to think about is what everyone in the bridal party is going to wear, such as the bridesmaids and of course the bride herself. Every bride wants this day to be all about her, and this is why choosing a great dress is so important. It may take some time to decide on one, but the time and effort that is put in beforehand will be well worth it in the end.

Just remember to take your time and to have patience, because this will be a very hectic and confusing time. However, if you remember to keep your cool and keep in mind the fact that this is supposed to be a joyous day and not a frustrating one, then everything should be fine.

Ideas for Wedding Centerpieces

Creating a beautiful reception area is an important part of the wedding planning. However, this can be quite overwhelming in addition to the other wedding plans. But, with some simple forethought, the reception area can look appropriate with the simple addition of wedding centerpieces for the tables.

The easiest way to achieve nice wedding centerpieces is to simply have the wedding florist make centerpieces which use the same flowers as the wedding flowers. This will complete the look of the wedding dcor and using the florist will ensure that the work will be done without adding to the stress of the wedding couple. This is a great idea for wedding centerpieces if cost is not a factor.

However, flowers do tend to be costly for a wedding. The bride can ask the florist for a less expensive style while still using the same floral theme. This may provide a good option and most florists are understanding of the need to stick to the wedding budget. If the floral decorations just become too costly for the wedding centerpieces there are other options.

Cost Effective Options for Wedding Centerpieces

If the wedding budget is limited looking for other ideas for wedding centerpieces may seem tremendous. It is good to just take a day and shop for some unique ideas. Craft stores can be inspiring for the imagination. A simple and very inexpensive idea is to use colorful confetti. The confetti can be cut into appropriate shapes such as bells or doves or it can just be cut into geometrical shapes. Sprinkling the confetti on a white table cloth will make a nice centerpiece.

Another cost effective option would be to use china teapots and teacups that the wedding couple or their family members own. These teapots and teacups do not need to match. Their beauty is in the individual designs. This is a nice way to bring a little bit of home into the reception. If the family doesn't own much china the bride may consider purchasing some china for both the wedding centerpieces and then as the gifts for her attendants. This will help to cut cost by combining them.

One possible idea for wedding centerpieces would be to use some clear glass jars or inexpensive vases. Filling these with water which is colored with food coloring and then adding a single long stem silk or fresh flower would be simple and economical. Using a color which complements the wedding colors would complete this look. This may be the simple solution to the question of suitable wedding centerpieces.

The New Wedding Etiquette (Kewanee Star Courier)

Have Your Wedding on a Cruise Ship!

There are so many different kinds of weddings to choose from, whether it's a beautiful church wedding, or one held in the back of a large house, or even a wedding at some distant place. Of the three, the latter sorts of weddings are growing in popularity, as couples try to do things a little differently and hold their wedding in exotic vistas. If you're looking to do something a little different with your wedding, give a thought to combining your wedding with a cruise and enjoy your special day in a tropical locale. But in order to make such a wedding work, you'll need to weigh the benefits and drawbacks.

The Good

The best part of a wedding cruise is that you're virtually guaranteed a wedding ceremony. Many cruise ships have chapels that a couple can be married in, and even offer wedding cruise packages for people interested in having their ceremony on the ship. Alternately, you can plan on stopping at the right port-of-call for a wedding on the beach. Either way, the wedding is going to be something memorable. Just as with ships, there are resorts in several Caribbean areas that will help you to plan your wedding to be perfect. If done right, you can combine your wedding and honeymoon, tying the knot underneath some palm trees before enjoying a wonderful, tropical vacation.

The Bad

Of course, not everything is perfect with a wedding cruise. While the wedding itself may be great, it can be difficult to plan the logistics for such a trip. To begin with, unless you or your close friends and family are rich, don't expect there to be a large ceremony. Wedding cruises are expensive, and it's a lot to ask of someone to pay the cost of a cruise to be a guest at your ceremony. Your best bet is to make your wedding as small as possible and to pay the way of the people you simply can't do without having there.

And even if you pay their way, you need to make sure everyone has a passport so they can travel out of the country, can get the time off work for a vacation, and can bring kids along or hire a babysitter. Remember, with a wedding cruise, your best bet is a small ceremony and a reception held sometime after you're home to ensure you have a celebration with everyone who wasn't able to make it. But if you're willing to do the planning - and some of the paying, a wedding cruise is a wonderful idea that will create a memorable experience.

Planning a Wedding

Significance of Wedding Bands

The largest tradition in America for a wedding is the wedding bands. They are the first thing other women ask to see and it makes people excited just to see it. Now, most men are much less excited about rings because they are usually not impressed with a rock that cost too much. A wedding band to women means a new family with kids and the next chapter in life. Most men do not understand, in the beginning, the purpose or importance of the wedding bands. It doesn't really matter unless one takes it off!

In all seriousness, the wedding band is a symbol of love and dedication to only one other. It means that two people love each other so much that they have pledged to stay together no matter what happens - no disease, no disability, nothing. There will be times when love doesn't seem possible; two people will not get along every hour of every day. But love is different; if one temporarily doesn't like their spouse, that feeling passes and love overcomes all.

Implications of Wedding Bands

There is nothing that is free and wedding bands are no different. A ring can cost a few hundred dollars or it can cost thousands. It doesn't mean that a man loves a woman more or less because of the rings size or price. The biggest cost of a wedding band isn't the money; the biggest cost is living up to the reputation that the diamond and gold stands for. These may seem like romantic, emotional words but they hold more truth than a million dollar ring which can be one of the reasons why a divorce is so messy.

Sometimes wedding bands are bought without two people understanding what it means. People would stay married if they knew exactly what they were saying to each other when they exchange rings. The wedding band creates a bond stronger than crazy glue. When people age and they have been tested many times during their marriage with all kinds of different problems, then the ring is showing its true color. It means that two people who become one are stronger together than the two parts they once were.

If a young couple has planned to be married, it would serve them well to understand the real cost of wearing the ring. The couple should not allow others to dictate things that a new couple should do. If people did what others expected, most marriages wouldn't last.

Wedding Flowers

A Registry Will Provide Wedding Gift Ideas

Wedding gifts are important items for a couple as they start their new life together. The couple will need a place to live, the basic furnishings and appliances so their life will be comfortable. Most of the family members and friends that come to the wedding will bring with them gifts to help them get started. Others send the special gifts directly to the couple's address so they are not burdened with them at the wedding. There is a great system set up by many of the department stores so the couple does not end up with sixteen toasters and no spoons.

The registry is set up in a section of the department store. The wedding couple goes to the store to set up the registry when they decide to have their wedding. They work with a store employee and pick out the things that they need for their new life together. They will also state their preferences for the specific models and styles that they would like to receive. The store keeps a record of the preferences and a record of the purchases of the friends and family members. The registry can be set up at several stores at the same time, and now stores often set the registry up on line as well.

Wedding Gifts Are an Expression of Love and Respect

Wedding gifts often include the basics for setting up a household, but wedding gifts can be luxurious as well. The basic appliances such as mixers, silverware and every day dishes can be great wedding gifts. The linens needed for the bathrooms and bedrooms are also great gifts. Towels, sheets and blankets can be very expensive so if the bride and groom receive these items as wedding gifts they will be grateful. The wedding couple will probably need other items such as salt shakers and glasses to complete their basic furnishings.

Fine china and beautiful crystal glasses are not necessities, but these make great wedding gifts. Everyone likes to have special things for the holidays and parties so these gifts for newlyweds are usually appreciated. These items often last for years, and these can be passed on to their children and their grandchildren. Some wedding gifts are even more exorbitant than fine china. Some wedding couples receive cars, homes and honeymoon trips as wedding gifts. Each wedding guest should buy a gift according to their own means, and each present will be appreciated by the recipients.
